Originally from Finland, Ville Hakala grew up with the sauna as a way of life, passed down from generation to generation. Saunas have a long and deeply rooted history in Finland. Over the centuries, the sauna experience has evolved, and so has the sauna itself, adapting to different needs and lifestyles. In Finland, saunas come in many forms – and a good sauna always adapts to the needs of its users.

A great sauna is built on the right balance of essential elements. Ventilation, thermal insulation, moisture control, high-quality materials and, above all, comfort form the foundation of a sauna that stands the test of time and is a pleasure to use.

We believe that every sauna should be designed around its users. We work closely with each client to design a sauna that takes into account the dimensions of the space, their personal preferences and how the sauna will be used. Our goal is to create a sauna that fits perfectly into the space and lifestyle of each client – down to the smallest detail.

Now based in Lausanne, Ville designs each sauna with a clean aesthetic inspired by Scandinavian and Japanese lines, and travels throughout French-speaking Switzerland — and beyond — to create unique saunas for private individuals and professional projects alike (chalets, spas, hotels).
